Waking up early didn’t come to me from discipline or a need to be more productive. It’s shift that just happened. Gradually. Tenderly. And I enjoy it.
The moment when the world feels before it fully wakes. The air still feels crisp. The sky is still shifting between darkness and light. The streets are quieter. The birds begin to chirp so softly. Conversations happen in lower tones, almost whispering around me. And there’s something soft, almost sacred, about this pocket of time.
Morning is when I am awake and there is a dawn in me.
— Henry David Thoreau
Morning feels like a space that gives you a little room to try something new. A stretch, a short walk, a journal entry, or just sit down, close your eyes with slow breath before the day picks up speed. Add ten minutes to your alarm, maybe thirty, and see what opens up. When you pay attention in these first moments of the day, you see shifts.
I’ve noticed when I start this way, the rest of the day shifts with it. Not just the atmosphere around me, my thoughts, my movements, and even my perspective feels different. There’s clarity and spaciousness. The day ahead begins not in a rush. There’s calmness and gentleness. The way the rest of the days feels less hurried, and more grounded.
You don’t have to wake up early to change your life. But you might find, as I did, that waking just a little earlier changes the feel of it.
may the next morning greet you gently too ♡
